Trezor email-provider breach fuels targeted crypto phishing

An email-provider compromise does not by itself mean that hardware wallets or recovery seeds were stolen. The immediate risk is social engineering: attackers can use trusted branding, breach-related urgency, or account-verification requests to persuade recipients to disclose credentials, recovery phrases, or other sensitive information.

Hardware-wallet users should assume that convincing messages may be based on real contact data and should verify every request independently. Trezor and similar providers should communicate through channels that do not depend solely on the affected mailing list, explain what information was exposed when known, and warn users that support will never require a recovery seed.

Recipients should avoid links and attachments in unexpected messages, even when the message contains accurate personal details.
